Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Zizeg (the "App"), a macOS application. Zizeg is developed by Gabor Viola, referred to in these Terms as "we," "us," or "our." By downloading, installing, or using Zizeg, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

If you downloaded Zizeg from the Mac App Store, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions — specifically the Licensed Application End User License Agreement — also apply, and take precedence over these Terms wherever they conflict, per Apple's own requirements.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Zizeg on any Mac you own or control, for your own personal or professional use, subject to these Terms. This license doesn't give you any ownership of the App or its underlying code — Zizeg, its design, and its source code remain our property (or that of our licensors).

You may not: reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App beyond what applicable law permits; redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense the App; or use the App for any unlawful purpose.

Your content

Zizeg edits markdown files that live on your own Mac. We never receive, store, or have access to your documents — see our Privacy Policy for detail. You retain full ownership of, and responsibility for, everything you create or edit with Zizeg.

Purchases and subscriptions

Zizeg is free to download; viewing documents is always free. Editing and export require unlocking the app, either through a one-time purchase or an auto-renewing subscription with a free trial. All purchases and subscriptions are billed and managed entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store — pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are all governed by Apple's own terms, not by us. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your Apple ID's subscription settings; we have no ability to process billing changes or refunds directly.

No warranty

Zizeg is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every file or system configuration.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) Zizeg, including loss of data, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited or excluded.

Changes

We may update Zizeg and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

Termination

You can stop using Zizeg at any time by deleting the App. We may discontinue or modify the App at our discretion; if you've made a purchase, that doesn't entitle you to a refund from us directly — see "Purchases and subscriptions" above.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection law in your own country gives you rights that can't be waived.
