Privacy Policy

Zizeg is a markdown editor for macOS, built to work entirely on your Mac. This policy is short because there isn't much to tell: Zizeg does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.

No accounts, no analytics

Zizeg has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or telemetry of any kind. There's no backend server for the app to talk to, so there's nothing for it to send your usage, your documents, or any other information to — not to us, and not to anyone else.

Your files stay on your Mac

Every document you open or edit in Zizeg stays exactly where you put it, on your own disk. Zizeg accesses only the files and folders you explicitly open or drag in, using macOS's standard sandboxed file-access system (security-scoped bookmarks) — the same permission model used by every sandboxed Mac app. We never see, receive, or have any way of accessing your documents.

The one thing that touches the network

Zizeg blocks remote (internet-hosted) images in a document by default. If you choose to click and load one, your Mac makes a standard, direct connection to whichever server hosts that image — the same as opening a link in a browser. That server may log ordinary web-request information (such as your IP address), the same as any website or image host would; Zizeg doesn't add any tracking of its own to that request, and it never happens without you clicking to load the image first.

That's the only network activity Zizeg ever initiates. There is no other network access, no background communication, and no data sent to us at any point.

Purchases

If you purchase Zizeg through the Mac App Store, that transaction is handled entirely by Apple, under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive your payment details.

Children's privacy

Zizeg doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and describe what changed.
